In August 2015, following an evaluation and selection process, ENSEA obtained from the World Bank the label of “African Centre of Excellence (ACE)” in the field of statistical training. Three main bodies are foreseen to ensure the coordination of the Centre: – a Steering Committee, – a Scientific Council, – a Technical Committee.
The mission of the Scientific Council is to provide a long-term forward-looking vision to assist the Steering Committee in setting the scientific orientations of the Centre of Excellence, and to assess the scientific value of the training and research activities carried out in the Centre. The Scientific Council supervises the pedagogical engineering, training of trainers and research activities that are carried out (selection of doctoral students, research partnerships, award of scholarships, validation of teaching programmes). After a first physical meeting in June 2017 and a second in June 2018, a third one is being held from 14 to 15 June 2019 in Abidjan, on the sidelines of the the International Conference on Statistics and Applied Economics (CISEA) held from 17 to 19 June 2019.
