Accra, Ghana (November 28, 2021) – The Sixth Biannual Regional Workshop of Centres of Excellence in African Higher Education for Development Impact (ACE Impact) will be held from November 8 to 11, 2021.
The meeting will bring together the fifty-three (53) centres of excellence, government representatives from participating countries, vice-chancellors, representatives from the higher education sector, the private sector, policy think tanks, and partners such as the World Bank, the French Development Agency and the Association of African Universities as well as other key stakeholders.
The African Higher Education Centres of Excellence for Development Impact (AEC Impact) are meeting to review the project at mid-term and strengthen the implementation and effectiveness of the project.
Since its launch in 2019, the ACE Impact project has achieved remarkable success in improving the quality of postgraduate education in higher education institutions in the sub-region, including Djibouti. As the project has reached its mid-term, this workshop will provide a unique opportunity to discuss critical issues that have emerged during the mid-term review process.
The workshop will focus on exchanging views on the main achievements of the project and its overall status, as well as obtaining valuable feedback and practical solutions for the advancement and development of the project during the next half of its implementation.
The centres will have the opportunity to share their experiences and network to foster collaborations for the project sustainability. This opportunity ensures that the project overall objective is met, and aims to improve the quality, quantity and development impact of higher education in Africa through regional specialisation and collaboration.
