Since last year, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée d’Abidjan (ENSEA), under the sponsorship of Mrs KABA Nialé, Minister of Planning and Development, has initiated the first edition of the national awareness campaign of statistical training among young girls in science electives.
For several weeks, ENSEA team toured the country’s secondary schools, high schools, colleges and universities to provide more information on its training courses and the job of statistician.
The aim of ENSEA was to arouse the interest of young girls from the science studies electives (C, D & E), female undergraduate and graduate students (Economics, Applied Mathematics) and the preparatory classes (MP and Commerce) of INP-HB in statistical training, to take the entry examinations to ENSEA. Also, it is about to increase the percentage of female statistician graduates.
For this 2nd edition, ENSEA wants to involve all actors in the education system, principals, teaching staff, guidance counsellors as well as young girls and parents of students more closely to convey its message.
ENSEA will start this national awareness campaign in November.
