A delegation from ENSEA of Abidjan led by Dr. Hugues KOUADIO, Director of the school, took part in the launching ceremony of the support project the creation of employment opportunities and sources of income related to digital technology for the youth of CI.
The World Food Programme (WFP), in partnership with the Ivorian Ministry of Planning and Development as well as the Ministry of Youth Promotion and Employment, launched the programme “Support for the creation of employment opportunities and income sources linked to digital technology for 200,000 young people in Côte d’Ivoire” on Thursday 7 January 2021.
The launch of this project which aims to support job creation and strengthen the skills of young people through a training programme in digital skills took place at the headquarters of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), in Plateau.
During this ceremony, the Director of ENSEA of Abidjan co-presented with the Representative of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Côte d’Ivoire, the project’s donor, the phase 1 of the project with a focus on the market study of the demand for digital skills in Côte d’Ivoire. This study is carried out by the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Economie Appliquée (ENSEA).
To collect the information necessary for this assessment, interviews will be conducted. They are aimed at all areas of activity in both the public and private sectors and will involve both SMEs and large companies. This first phase of the project concerns 300 young people, 50% of whom are girls, in three regions (Abidjan district, San Pedro and Poro region) over a period of two (02) months.
The official launch of the project was made by the Minister of Youth Promotion and Youth Employment in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Planning and Development as well as all the project partners.
Eventually, over a period of 3 years, 200,000 young Ivorians will benefit from this project throughout the country.
