ENSEA of Abidjan in partnership with the INP-HB of Yamoussoukro and the ISFA of Lyon opened in 2017, an Actuarial Master’s degree for students enrolled in the engineering programme of Senior Statistician-Economist (ISE) of ENSEA and those of the High Insurance Studies (HEA) of INP-HB.
After two years of training here in Abidjan by specialists and professionals from the actuarial world, the first graduating class of actuaries from these two schools will be awarded their graduation diploma on April 05, 2019.
This Actuarial Master’s degree is a turnkey course designed to train specialists in statistics and finance in risk assessment and management; and more generally professionals in insurance, pension funds and provident institutions, banking and asset management.
This programme, which is unique in Sub-Saharan Africa, is part of the Franco-Ivorian Higher Education Hub. It is the result of a partnership between one of the oldest French actuarial schools and two of the best Ivorian schools whose graduates shine throughout Africa. This partnership is distinguished by its form, quality and the quantity of specialists trained,” says Dr Hugues KOUADIO, Director of ENSEA.
It is also distinguished by its specific governance, which allows a close proximity and a better response to the needs of the professional world. Indeed, the programme is managed by a Steering Committee made up of partner schools, representatives of banks and insurance companies, including Mr Saliou Bakayoko, President of the Insurers’ Union of Cote d’Ivoire, who is the regulator, Mr Diarrassouba Karim, Director of Insurance Companies of Cote d’Ivoire and the Institute of Actuaries of Cote d’Ivoire represented by its President, Mr Armand Kple.
This unique initiative also aims to meet the significant ongoing training needs of executives in the financial industries in the areas of finance, actuarial and risk management.
During this graduation ceremony, about twenty students of six different nationalities (CI, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Cameroon, Magadascar) will receive their diplomas at the end of their training, and then increase the number of actuaries from Côte d’Ivoire and the Sub-region.
The graduation ceremony will take place on April 05th at the ENSEA amphitheatre in the presence of the Minister of Planning and Development, Mrs KABA NIALE, the French Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire, Mr Gilles HUBERSON, and Jean KACOU DIAGOU as the class patron.
